Total stumbles

Over the  weekend, StumbleUpon hosted its first-ever StumbleThon in collaboration with Temple University’s philanthropic dance marathon, HootaThon, to benefit The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

StumbleThon is a new, caused-related college initiative aimed at rallying millennials ages 18 to 34 – which constitute 76% of our audience – to make a difference.

To kick off the program, we partnered with HootaThon with the goal of empowering people to raise money for the cause. Not only did we have a great time but in less than 12 hours 187,542 web pages were ‘Stumbled’ by over 500 students. StumbleUpon donated $10,000 to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and helped HootaThon exceed their $100,000 fundraising goal. Check out some of our favorite photos from the day.

As a result of the joint success, StumbleThon will be making its way to other campuses aimed at serving the community. To apply to work with us on other college initiatives, email
