What is Trailblaze Growth Advisors all about?
Trailblaze Growth Advisors provides emerging growth organizations with executive-level marketing expertise at a fraction of the cost of hiring a full-time CMO. Our clients turn to us to quickly scale and improve the results of their demand generation activities, avoiding the risk of hiring an ineffective CMO or bridging the gap during an extended hiring process. Our experts have escaped huge organizations to be able to make a huge impact in growing businesses. In their previous lives, they have managed global P&Ls up to $3 billion and have led marketing teams across various startups and Fortune 500 companies including Dell, Citi and United Technologies.
Who is your audience and how do you reach them? How do you find new audiences?
We target startups and medium-sized businesses. We have strong referral and word of mouth networks. We reach new audiences through events and a content strategy that combine home grown and curated content and sharing via social media channels.
What’s your publishing and/or content marketing strategy?
We focus on sharing great business insights regardless of who creates it, even if its a competitor. Our content marketing strategy combines home grown and curated content. We put limits on the number of tweets and updates that we make each day. We also share our content in our newsletter.
What are you biggest challenges and how are you tackling them?
Our biggest challenges is keeping our own content fresh. It’s easy to de-prioritize content creation when your a delivering for your clients. However, it is important to stay on a steady schedule.
What are your best tips and tricks for publishers and brands?
Test what topics resonates well with your audience and then double down.

My Twitter feed, Huffington Post, PandoDaily, Harvard Business Review, and Gawker.
Who do you admire?
I admire many people. Lately, Sophia Amoruso has my greatest admiration. It’s amazing how she built a multi-million dollar business with no financing. Even thinking about it makes me pause. Wow.
Who’s your dream client?
I love working with technical people. My background in engineering helps me communicate with them. Also, I love talking code and process. It’s fun for me.
What’s one thing that your coworkers don’t know about you?
I love comedy podcasts: Comedy Bang Bang; That’s Deep Bro; How Did This Get Made?; Monday Morning Podcast; WTF with Marc Maron. I listen to them at the gym, while I cook… I even listen to them before I go to sleep.
